Rep. Alan Mollohan loses Democratic primary in West Virginia
Rep. Alan B. Mollohan (D-W.Va.) lost his bid for a 15th term Tuesday in a primary defeat that further affirms the anti-incumbent sentiment coursing through the country. He is the first House member to lose a reelection bid in the 2010 campaign, and his defeat comes days after Sen. Robert F. Bennett (R-Utah) was knocked off the November ballot in that state's convention process.
ollohan hadn't faced a serious primary fight in more than a decade and was seen in some circles as unbeatable, given that the state's 1st Congressional District seat had been in his family since 1968. (His father held it for seven terms before he won it.)But state Sen. Mike Oliverio ran hard against Mollohan's entrenched-incumbent status and made much of the lingering whiff of ethics problems that dogged the congressman for years.
With 98 percent of precincts reporting, Oliverio had 56 percent of the vote to Mollohan's 44 percent. In November, he will face former state delegate David McKinley, who won the Republican primary Tuesday night.
The Democratic race had become very nasty in its final weeks, with Oliverio referring to Mollohan as "one of the most corrupt members of Congress" and the incumbent retorting that his opponent was "lying" and "spreading right-wing smears."
State and national strategists warned Mollohan regularly of the threat that Oliverio posed, but the congressman, several sources said, ran a campaign suited to the early 1990s rather than 2010, in terms of its sophistication.
Republicans had made clear that they preferred to run against Mollohan and must now reorient their strategy. Besides being damaged by ethics allegations over the past few years, Mollohan had drawn opposition for his vote in favor of President Obama's health-care bill.
A recent Washington Post-ABC News poll showed that less than a third of voters said they plan to back their current member of Congress -- numbers that haven't been seen in Post-ABC data since the Republican-dominated election of 1994.
Just how bad the situation is for incumbents will be tested in a serious way next Tuesday, when Democratic Sens. Arlen Specter (Pa.) and Blanche Lincoln (Ark.) attempt to fend off primary challenges. renaissance2010

Specter features Obama in ad as Sestak advances
Having lost his once-comfortable lead in the Democratic Senate primary, Sen. Arlen Specter played his trump card Tuesday: President Obama.
Specter "helped pull us back from the brink" with his decisive vote last year for the economic stimulus, Obama says in a new 30-second TV ad. "I love Arlen Specter."
The image, from a September fund-raiser, counters Rep. Joe Sestak's footage of President George W. Bush endorsing Specter as a "firm ally" in the 2004 Republican primary - a stark reminder that Specter switched parties last year. Sestak's ad also uses Specter's own words from news clips saying he became a Democrat last year "to get reelected."
Specter changed parties out of concern he might lose a Republican primary. But now, he's imperiled in a Democratic one.
A Muhlenberg College-Morning Call nightly tracking poll released Tuesday showed that Sestak had edged ahead of Specter, 47 percent to 43 percent. That is within the survey's margin of error of 5 percentage points, but the challenger's advantage in the poll has grown steadily since late last week.
Similarly, a Rasmussen Reports survey conducted Thursday showed Sestak at 47 percent and Specter at 42 percent, with a 4.5-point margin of error. And a Franklin and Marshall College poll to be released Wednesday is expected to show Sestak's numbers exceeding Specter's for the first time in that poll.
Meanwhile, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Obama had no plans for another campaign trip to Pennsylvania for Specter before Tuesday's primary, dampening hopes for a weekend get-out-the-vote rally in Philadelphia.
Analysts say Specter, a five-term senator, has been caught up in an anti-incumbent mood, compounded by his April 2009 party switch, which has fed into Sestak's chief narrative that Specter is an untrustworthy opportunist.
"The wave against incumbents is of great concern," Specter acknowledged while campaigning in Philadelphia on Monday. On Saturday, three-term Utah Sen. Robert Bennett was denied the Republican nomination for reelection. Conservative activists angry at Washington toppled him at his state's GOP convention.
On the other hand, incumbents and party-endorsed candidates in both parties triumphed last week in primaries in Indiana, North Carolina, and Ohio.
"I am surprised at the depth of anti-incumbent feeling," Gov. Rendell said Tuesday. He said Specter was the state's "most visible incumbent."
With the contest razor-close, Specter could yet stage a surge, with analysts saying his greatest reservoir of strength is deep support in Philadelphia, particularly among African American voters.
"The race has tightened - we knew it would," Specter campaign manager Chris Nicholas said. He declined to discuss polls, saying that there was so much volatility "you get twisted like a pretzel" trying to parse them.
The Muhlenberg poll uses strict screening to pick likely primary voters: Respondents must be registered Democrats, say they definitely plan to go to the polls Tuesday, and have voted in the last midterm election in which they were eligible to do so. The latest poll, taken Friday through Monday, surveyed 401 people.
Pollster Chris Borick said the criteria may exclude African Americans, younger voters, and Democrats who registered for the first time and surged to the polls to participate in the competitive 2008 Pennsylvania presidential primary and to support Obama.
"We absolutely make assumptions about who's going to turn out - it's not an exact science," Borick said Tuesday. "Past performance suggests that people who come out and register for the first time to vote for president don't usually show up in high percentages for midterms, but we could be wrong."
Specter will have some advantages on primary day, including extensive get-out-the-vote operations on the ground, with union members plus workers from county Democratic organizations, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, and, in Philadelphia, Rep. Chaka Fattah's field operation.
"I personally don't see an energized Democratic base this year," Borick said, "but turnout is the wild card."
Specter's campaign has sought to frame the race as a referendum on Sestak, with ads alleging Sestak was fired from a top Pentagon job in 2005 for creating a "poor command climate" among subordinates. Sestak has denied the account, and his campaign responded with an ad in which veterans call Specter a liar.
Sestak's 127 missed votes last year, one of the highest totals in the House, and his paying most of his campaign staff less than the minimum wage also came under scrutiny in Specter attack ads.
But nothing has seemed to slow Sestak's rise, with the percentage of voters holding an unfavorable view of him increasing only slightly. Specter is such a known quantity in Pennsylvania public life that the race has always been a referendum on him, analysts say.
The irony of Specter's predicament is that many Democrats believe he would have a better chance of appealing to independents and moderate Republicans in the general election.
"I don't think they'd be there for Sestak in the general election," Rendell said.
Democratic media consultant Larry Ceisler said: "Arlen is built for general elections, not for primaries. That's always been the case. Why should it surprise anyone that an independent centrist would have problems from the right in a Republican primary and from the left in a Democratic primary?"cherish

job coach or career counselor

If you want to explore your career without the assistance of a job coach or career counselor, a good way to start is to conduct some independent research. Let assume your degree in is law enforcement or criminal justice. You will need to decide if you want to work in corporate security or private investigation. But how do you decide? Well, if your college career center cannot provide you with specific information, visit Occupational Outlook Handbook online to get an overview of various positions in your field. Join industry specific chat rooms to see what everyone is talking about. Go to the websites of various companies. Get involved in conversations. Ask lots of questions. Get advice from friends, family members, and neighbors. Ask them what they do and how they got started.
If you are not sure if a particular area of your industry is right for you, call or write professionals already in positions of interest to request an information interview. An information interview will allow you the opportunity to question a professional about the nature and requirements of a position. Some people will not be available, whereas other people will welcome the opportunity to give you fifteen minutes of their time. If someone avoids you, don take it personally. Just move on to the next possible contact. Once you make a connection, you will need to be polite, organized, and demonstrate exceptional professionalism and communication skills. During your information interview, remember to take detailed notes. When you are done, thank them wholeheartedly for their time. Be sure to get their full name and contact information so you can send them a follow-up thank you letter. They might even have an opening, so be sure to make a good impression.

Action
Congratulations, youe just graduated with a degree in your chosen field.
So what your next step going to be to launch your long-anticipated career?
Like a young racehorse at the starting gate, you have tons of energy and determination, and are anxious to get out there and seize new career opportunities. But are you ready? Do you know what you need to do? Do you have a plan of action to turn those opportunities into a reality? If you don, you will need to get one.
I sure youe heard the old adage that the quickest route from point A to point B is a straight line. Well, launching your career is no different in terms of setting your job search goals and carrying them out diligently and methodically You might have a few corners to navigate, but you should do your best to avoid deviating from your goal as much as possible.
One of the first things you need to decide is what type of job interests you the most. Depending on what your degree is, there might be many positions in your field to consider. For example, if you are a graduate nurse you can work in a hospital, clinic, nursing home, childcare center, school, private practice, or field setting. Then, within those settings you can work within various units such as medical-surgical, pediatrics, and maternity. Then there are transitional opportunities.
Let say you tried your hand at nursing and realized it was not what you expected. You can always consider pharmaceutical sales as a new career. Some fields, such as business management, are even more flexible. The key is to decide which direction you are headed towards and learn as much about that field as you possible can.
Okay, you hate to admit it, but you spent all of that time and money, but youe still not sure what you want to do. You have an idea about what you might want to do, but it just not clear yet. None of the possibilities youe explored get you excited. In fact, youe feeling downright frustrated and depressed. Don worry. It really isn that bad. Keep in mind that you don have to start at the top, and don have to commit yourself to an employer. So don put so much pressure on yourself. Maybe you just need to get your foot in the door somewhere to test the waters before you decide to go full steam ahead. You might even want to spend the first year to discover what it is that you really want to do. That way your mind will be open to possibilities and you will have a positive attitude. Just don waste time. Set weekly goals. Use that year to WORK at finding out what you want to do. Then prepare to do it ?and do it well.

communication

Wireless downhole to surface communication has led to the development of super low frequency (SLF) real time electromagnetic telemetry technique. It has such a significant engineering values such as downhole multi-parameter detection and downhole apparatus control, etc.A downhole to surface communication channel consists of a long vertical cylinder (the stem) and an isolated downhole cylinder (the electrode) embedded in a homogeneous earth, the downhole signal detector on the ground. The downhole signal can be detected at the surface as a very small voltage drop, the surface receiver senses the potential between the cylinder and a ground point in order to receive the information sent from the apparatus downhole. However, since the oil wells are cased in steel, the steel casing largely masks EM signals induced into the earth formation, the electromagnetic signal undergo severe attenuation as they diffuse across the casing. After comparing the effect of the electric antenna and magnetic antenna, a method is introduced, that is coupling the voltage into the cylinder directly by providing an insulating break between the stem and the electrode, then there will be a signal voltage drop on the downhole steel casing. The downhole electric antenna which emits the electromagnetic signal into the formation, the ground receiver senses the voltage drop in present of ambient electromagnetic noise in the oil field. Based on the electromagnetic theory, the work is aimed at predicting the receivability on the ground surface and enhancing the acquisition ability of the receiver on the ground. In this paper, it is presented that large amount of the theoretic models concerning the features of the super low frequency electromagnetic signal transmitting through the earth formation, using finite-element method to compute the magnetic and electric field of the downhole SLF signal in a cylindrically symmetric model and the result shows the effect of the magnetic antenna is weaker than the electric antenna. According to the electric field result simulations based on the finite element analytic software of ANSYS, the structure and the space of the downhole electrode, the depth of the downhole apparatus, the power level of the downhole SLF signal, the electrode's depth of the receiver equipment on the ground are crucial to predict such a weak SLF signal going through the earth formations as well as the electric field distribution on the ground surface in oil field. It demonstrated an effective scheme which can largely increases the strength of the detectable signal on the surface of the earth. It is also carried out the 3D simulation, a realistic model for assessing the performance of the communication channel. At the end, the thought of the OFDM communication method and the technique of designing the high temperature circuit are introduced in developing a testing carrier wave transmitting equipment, and also the principle of designing the downhole carrier wave transmitting apparatus is given.

The love
The love has been washed away by the river of time, but the feelings, is still there the moment I read this poem. I still can feel the innocent love of that boy, which sometimes console my heart and my soul, and encourage me to purify my feelings when I got hurt. If you have the experience of watching an old movie that once moved your northface outlet out and still could touch you many years later, you will understand my north face outlet.
When I watched the shining stars in the dark sky, the idea comes to me that each of us once was born so pure, just like that star, shining out the innocent hope for the world. However, we grew up and matured with the day replaced by the night, the sun giving way to the moon. We came to know that besides the word “joy” there is also one called “sad”. We were struggling to stay the warmth of the sun, to evade the coldness of the night, only to find out inability and insignificance before this world. The spring never stays longer and the winter never comes later. We, finally, find that we are deserted on a cheap northface jackets called earth, lonely and hopelessly. Have you ever thought why a child is afraid of darkness and why a man in agony always murmur a word “Mum”? We are weak, not strong in nature. We feel cold and afraid in this planet, and so we turn our telescope into the space, not only to search out, but also to search in.

A BEAUTIFUL COSMIC DANCE!

Like the dancing configuration of electrons in microscopic atoms
Spinning galaxies of Space are dancing in the macroscopic Universe!
Stars of multiple galaxies are the couples dancing different dances;
Ball dance or ballet dance a couple of inverted triangles of stars do;
Ball or ballet dance couples of stars sparkle in red and white and blue!
All the night as in romantic dream in the vast dark Universe wonderful
Stars like the colourful garden of flowers amuse men and women in life!
Balance of the vast universe goes on by cosmic dance wonderful forever.
The merry go round or the giant wheel in the exhibition too remind that
From the childhood at first and then to ball dance of couples in clubs so
To relax and forget worries of life to rejuvenate spirit and enjoy life ever!
The cosmic dance of the Universe if stops for a moment what will happen?
Will the suspended animation of stars and planets remain where they are?
Or if men and women have not found out dance will there be any relief ever?
The Great Wall Grey
The grey Great Wall winds in mountains and grey Siheyuan courtyards lie in hutongs. The grey is the tone of traditional architectures in Beijing.
The Great Wall of China, one of the greatest wonders of the world, was enlisted in the World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching approximately 6,700 kilometers (4,163 miles ) from east to west of China. With a history of more than 2,000 years, it is one of the most appealing attractions all around the world owing to its architectural grandeur and historical significance.
For those who want to experience the real Beijing, the hutongs and Siheyuan (quadrangle) are indispensable and best place to visit.
Hutong means street, lane and alley, and is in fact the passage formed by lines of siheyuan (quadrangle) where most Beijing residents live. One hutong connects with another, and siheyuan connects with siheyuan, to form a block, and blocks join with blocks to form the whole city.
A hutong is an ancient city alley or lane typical in Beijing, where hutongs run into the several thousand. Surrounding the Forbidden City, many were built during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties (1271-1911). In these dynasties the emperors planned the city and arranged the residential areas according to the etiquette systems. The center of the city of Beijing was the royal palace -- the Forbidden City.
A standard siheyuan usually consists of houses on its four sides, and the house which stands at the north end and faces the south is called the "main house" or "north house," the ones on both sides are called "side houses," and the one which stands at the south end and faces north is called "south house."
Not only residences but also ancient palaces, government offices, temples and monasteries were built basically on the pattern of the siheyuan, a common feature of traditional Chinese architecture. All the siheyuans, from their size and style one could tell whether they belonged to private individuals or the powerful and rich.
Hutong and siheyuan are not only a kind of architecture, but also serves as a window into Beijing folk life and the "encyclopedia of the history and culture of Beijing."

WHATEVER LOVE MEANS
Although neither or them remembered the occasion, Diana first met her future husband when she was just a baby. It happened during the winter of 1961, when twelve-year-old Charles, Prince of Wales, was visiting his mother’s Sandringham retreat.
At the time, your Prince Charles barely glanced at the tiny baby sleeping in her cot. After all, bow could a twelve-year-old boy be interested in babies?
But the Prince would eventually take a very keen interest in this particular baby —it would just take some time.
In fact, it would be sixteen years before Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer took place in the middle of a farmer’s field during a shooting party in November 1977.
It was a cold, rainy, bleak afternoon when sixteen-year-old Diana, dressed in a borrowed parka that was too large for her, boots, and blue jeans, crossed the field to meet the heir to the British throne.
It was almost twilight when the two came face to face near Nobottle Woods.
“What a sad man,” Diana thought when she first saw him. The future Princess was intrigued to finally meet the most eligible bachelor in England, thought she was not impressed with his five-foot-ten-inch height, thinking to herself that she would tower over him in high heels. But Diana would later say that she admired his beautiful blue eyes.
The Prince later remarked that he thought Diana was “a very jolly and attractive” girl, “full of fun,” though Diana herself believed that “he barely noticed me at all.”
Diana, it was discovered later, first came to the attention of the royal family when she acted as a bridesmaid for her sister Jane’s wedding that April. It was the first major social occasion that Diana attended as a young woman. And many of the royals were surprised at how beautiful and mature the once-gawky girl had become.
Even the Queen Mother. Prince Charles’s grandmother, noticed Diana’s beauty, grace, and charm. She complimented the Earl on the fine job he had done in bringing Diana up.
A short time later, Prince Charles sent his valet to hand-deliver a formal invitation for Diana to accompany him that very evening to the opera and a latenight dinner at the palace.
Though she was flustered, and the invitation came at such short notice, Diana accepted. She and her roommate, Carolyn Bartholomew, hurried to dress and prepare Diana for her big date. The evening was a success, and an invitation to party on the royal yacht came soon after……
Although she was intimidated by the crowd at Balmoral, Diana was wise enough not to stay in the castle itself . She asked for, and was granted, an invitation to stay with her sister Jane and her young husband at their cottage on the Balmoral estate.
The Prince visited Diana there every day, offering to escort her to a barbecue, or extending an invitation for a long walk in the woods.
When Charles went to Switzerland for a ski vacation, Diana missed him terribly. He called her after a day or two, and told Diana he had something important to ask her.
He arrived home on February, 3, 1981.Three days later, he arranged to see Diana at Windsor Castle. Late that evening, while Prince Charles was showing Diana the nursery, he asked her to marry him.
To his surprise, Diana treated his proposal as a joke, She actually giggled. But soon she could see that Prince Charles was serious. Despite an insistent voice inside her head that told her she would never be Queen, she accepted his proposal.
Diana told Prince Charles over and over that she loved him.
“Whatever love means.” Was his reply.

The Result of the Falling US Dollar
Like a ticking time bomb, the falling dollar has grabbed the attention of Japan and West Germany, forcing them to consider adopting economic polices the United States advocates. The U.S. government wants the dollar to fall because as the dollar declines in value against the yen and Deutsche mark, U.S. good becomes cheaper. U.S. companies then sell more at home and abroad, and U.S. trade deficit declines. Cries for trade protection abate, and the global free-trade system is preserved.
Then, the cheaper dollar makes it cheaper for many foreign investors to snap up U.S. stocks. That prompts heavy buying from abroad—especially from Japan. Also, if the trade picture is improving, that means U.S. companies eventually will be more competitive. Consequently, many investors are buying shares of export-oriented U.S. companies in anticipation of better profits in the next year or so. But that is a rather faddish notion right now; if corporate earnings are disappointing in interest rates, the stock market rally could stall.
Improving U.S. competitiveness means a decline in another’s competitiveness.
Japan and West Germany are verging on recession. Their export-oriented economies are facing major problems. Japan is worried about the damage the strong yen will do to Japanese trade. West Germany is also worried. Share prices in Frankfurt plummeted this past week. Bonn is thought to be considering a cut in interest rates to boost its economy.
Could the falling dollar get out of hand? If the dollar falls too far, investors might lose confidence in U.S. investments—especially the government bond market. The money to finance the federal budget and trade deficits could migrate elsewhere. Inflation could flare up, too, since Japanese and German manufacturers will eventually pass along price hikes—and U.S. companies might follow suit to increase their profit margins. The U.S. federal Reserve then might need to step in and stabilize the dollar by raising interest rates. And higher interest rates could cause the U.S. economy to slow down and end the Wall Street Rally.
Worried about these side effects, Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcher has said the dollar has fallen far enough. What is the equilibrium level? Probably near where it is or slightly lower. It all depends on when the U.S. trade deficit turns around or if investors defect from U.S. Treasury Bonds. “It requires a good deal of political patience on the part of the U.S. Congress,” says Dr. Cline, “And there must be an expectation of patience on the part of private investors. The chance are relatively good that we will avoid an investor break or panic.”

My Saviour
I feel this awe
when I think of You deeply;
Your purpose – for me,
I can’t explain.
You love me…
I’m lost for words.
